Ingredients
For the wings:
- 1 kg chicken wings
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp grated garlic
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 2 tbsp corn flour
For the glaze:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp grated garlic
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp chilli flakes (adjust to taste)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
For garnish:
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Chicken Wings
- Oven method: Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Air fryer method: Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (390°F) for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with salt, pepper, garlic, ginger, and corn flour until evenly coated.
Step 2: Cook the Wings
- Oven:
Place wings in a single layer on the prepared rack, skin side up. Bake for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. - Air Fryer:
Cook the wings in batches to avoid overcrowding. Place a single layer of wings in the air fryer basket and cook for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and cooked through. Adjust time depending on your air fryer model and wing size.
Step 3: Make the Glaze
- While the wings cook, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the garlic, ginger, and chilli flakes. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Let it simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 4: Glaze & Serve
- Transfer the hot wings to a large mixing bowl.
- Pour the warm glaze over the wings and toss until fully coated.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
